How much does a website cost in Mexico in 2026?
By JCUpdated 8 min read
A website in Mexico costs from 540 pesos per year if you build it yourself on a platform, up to more than 150,000 pesos for a custom build. For a service business, the usual range is 8,000 to 35,000 pesos for a landing page and 25,000 to 90,000 pesos for a 5‑ to 10‑page site, plus 1,500 to 10,000 pesos per year for the platform and domain.
The design ranges are my estimate. I did not find an independent price study in Mexico, and the figures that circulate come from providers. Below I explain what drives the price and what to ask before paying.
How much does a website cost by project type?
Along with my estimate I include the ranges from GoDaddy’s guide for Mexico, updated July 30, 2026, which is one of the most cited references on Google. The difference is what each number includes.
| Project type | What’s included | GoDaddy guide | My estimate | Time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| You do it yourself on a platform | Template, your time and the annual plan | Not applicable | From 540 to 9,400 per year, platform only | As long as it takes you |
| Landing page | One page, copy, form connected to a CRM, GA4 and Tag Manager | From 3,000 to 10,000 with a freelancer; over 10,000 with an agency | From 8,000 to 35,000 | 1 to 2 weeks |
| Service site (5 to 10 pages) | One page per service, copy, basic technical SEO and forms | From 10,000 to 30,000 | From 25,000 to 90,000 | 4 to 8 weeks |
| Site with blog and content SEO | Above, plus article template and search‑based architecture | From 20,000 to 60,000 | From 40,000 to 150,000 | 6 to 10 weeks |
| Online store with template | Catalog, payments and shipping | From 18,000 to 40,000 | From 30,000 to 120,000 | 4 to 10 weeks |
| Custom development | Quote tool, portal or integration with your system | Over 100,000 for custom stores | From 150,000 | 3 months or more |
Mexican pesos, one‑time payment. The GoDaddy figures are shown as in their guide; mine are without VAT.
My ranges are higher because they include three things that many cheap quotes leave out: the copy, measurement with GA4 and Tag Manager, and the form connected to a CRM. These are the ranges I see quoted in Mexico for projects of this scope; each of my projects comes with its own closed proposal.
Why does one quote cost 5,000 pesos and another 80,000 pesos?
Because they are not quoting the same thing. Most of the time the difference comes down to five items:
The copy. The cheap quote uses whatever you provide. Writing the copy for a service site is half the work, and without it the page does not convert.
The structure. A template with your colors versus a page per service designed for the search that brings it.
The measurement. If no one installs GA4 and Tag Manager or defines what counts as a conversion, you won’t know how many contacts the page generated.
The form. Whether it goes to an email nobody checks, or into the CRM with a notification to the salesperson.
Who owns what. The domain, platform and Google accounts should be in your name. If they stay under the provider’s name, the low price is paid later.
How much does it cost to maintain a website per year?
Design is a one‑time cost; the platform and domain are yearly. These are the entry‑level plans each site showed on October 17:
| Platform | Entry plan | Approximate yearly cost | What you need to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| WordPress.com | Personal: 45 pesos per month with annual payment (108 month to month) | 540 pesos | Free domain the first year on annual plans. Premium costs 108 and Business 324 per month, with annual payment |
| WordPress with hosting (Hostinger) | Premium: 36.99 pesos per month with 48‑month contract | About 444 pesos per year during the contract (1,776 for the 4 years, paid upfront) | Renews at 149.99 pesos per month. Free domain the first year |
| Wix | Light: 125 pesos per month with annual payment | 1,500 pesos plus taxes | To accept payments you need Core (230 per month) or a higher plan |
| Shopify | Basic: 17 dollars per month with annual payment | 204 dollars (about 3,800 pesos) | 3 days free and then 1 dollar per month for 3 months. Card fee from 3.5% plus 3 pesos |
| Duda | Basic: 19 dollars per month with annual payment (25 month to month) | 228 dollars (about 4,200 pesos) | 14‑day trial. Prices in dollars |
| Domain .com.mx (Akky) | Registration for one year | 249 pesos, VAT included | The .mx costs 344.50 pesos per year |
I used the exchange rate shown by Wise that day: 18.50 pesos per dollar. Your bank will apply its own rate.
For a service site with a form, own domain and no platform branding, a realistic yearly cost is 1,500 to 10,000 pesos, depending on the platform and plan.
Which platform is best: Wix, WordPress, Shopify or Duda?
It depends on who will manage it afterward. I never recommend a platform based on trends.
- Wix: if you will build and maintain it yourself and want to start quickly.
- WordPress with hosting: if you want total control and have someone to update plugins and handle security. It’s the most flexible and requires the most maintenance.
- Shopify: if you sell products online. For a service business it’s more than you need.
- Duda: if someone builds it for you and you only need to change text, photos and prices. This site is built in Duda.
- Custom: when the page needs to do something a platform can’t, like a quote tool connected to your system.
How much does a landing page for ads cost?
Same as in the first table, 8,000 to 35,000 pesos. But it helps to look at it another way: the landing page is half the ad. If it improves conversion, the cost per contact drops from the first month.
| Landing converting at 2% | Landing converting at 4% | |
|---|---|---|
| Ad spend per month | 20,000 pesos | 20,000 pesos |
| Example cost per click | 10 pesos | 10 pesos |
| Landing visits | 2,000 | 2,000 |
| Contacts | 40 | 80 |
| Cost per contact | 500 pesos | 250 pesos |
To get 80 contacts with the first landing you would need to spend 40,000 pesos per month. The difference, 20,000 pesos per month, pays for a well‑made landing in one or two months. If you are calculating ad spend, check how much it costs to advertise on Google Ads in Mexico.
Costs that don’t appear in the quote
Renewal. Hosting is advertised at the first‑contract price. Hostinger’s Premium plan jumps from 36.99 to 149.99 pesos per month on renewal.
Free domain. Platforms that offer it only do so for the first year.
Taxes. Wix shows prices without tax; Akky includes it. Always compare with VAT.
Fees. If you sell online, Shopify charges from 3.5% plus 3 pesos per card payment on the Basic plan.
Photos. A real photo shoot is paid separately and almost always costs more than a template.
Maintenance. Updates, backups and changes. Ask if it’s included and for how long.
What to ask before hiring a website?
- Who will the domain, platform and Google accounts be registered to?
- Are the copy texts included or do I have to write them?
- What counts as a conversion and where will I see it?
- Where do the form submissions go and who receives the notification?
- Can I change text and photos without paying you each time?
- How much will I pay per year for platform and hosting, including renewal?
- If we stop working together, what will you deliver?
If the answer to the first question is “in my name, so you don’t have to worry,” look for someone else.
How long does it take to build a website?
A landing page takes one to two weeks. A multi‑page site takes four to eight weeks, depending on content. The biggest delays are rarely design; they are the copy, photos and approvals.
Being published does not mean you will be found on Google yet. That takes longer, and I explain it in how long SEO takes to show results.
What I would do
- Define what should happen when someone arrives: call, write, or schedule.
- Start with the service page that gives you the most margin, not the whole site.
- Make sure everything is in your name and measurement works from launch.
- Check after 30 days how many visits turned into contacts, and adjust using that data.
If you want to see what makes a landing page convert, check these landing page examples. And if you’re running ads to your site, I’ll build it together with the campaign: schedule 30 minutes.
